That the drug companies work to hold the
HIV = AIDS hypothesis in place is understandable given that they are businesses,
not benevolent entities, and profit tremendously from anti-HIV drugs used in the
"war" against AIDS. Even when they lower prices or "give
away" their products.
Most doctors don't have the time or
incentive to consider that two decades of AIDS practices may be wrong, and
researchers are beholden to the systems that fund their work. These systems,
which in large part involve the pharmaceutical industry, do not honour
questioning or testing of the HIV hypothesis and, in many cases, actively
prohibit this.

The AIDS cause is no longer a fringe movement. It has become mainstream. The cause
now belongs to governments, world leaders and corporate people. From a
marginalised movement championed by gay activists in America, it has become a

young friend of mine decided to get tested for the first time. The test said he
was positive. As I watched what he went through, I got a single searing snapshot
of how deeply one person can be impacted by the heavy AIDS propaganda that

Federal

The
XV International Aids Conference in Bangkok has the noble theme, "Access
For All." According to the conference promoters, "we will ensure that
all voices, all experiences and all concerns are represented."
Unfortunately the truth falls short of the hype
'It's sad that this day is used to
advance scientific self-interest that will probably help no one except a long
queue of mediocre scientists with a high-cost load of bad theory and bad
research.'
'A noose, you might say, that strangles any
emotional
response other than those dictated in this covenant. Should
you stray beyond these boundaries of prescribed emotion,
you'll be shamed, punished, vilified and driven out of
polite society on a rail.'
As each of these drugs became the treatment
of choice for a wide range of HIV+ people, its mass prescription was heralded
with a flurry of claims and corresponding accounts of spectacular benefits.
These phenomena diminished somewhat as large numbers of patients found they
could not "tolerate" the drugs, as side-effects became more widely
known, as independent tests failed to confirm, or contradicted, initial claims,
and as patients failed to recover their health or, after an initial rally, died.

Dr Kary Mullis won the Nobel Prize in
Science for inventing the PCR. With regard to viral load tests, which attempt
to use PCR for counting viruses, Mullis has stated: "Quantitative PCR is an
oxymoron." PCR is intended to identify substances qualitatively, but by its
very nature is unsuited for estimating numbers. Although there is a common
misimpression that the viral load tests actually count the number of viruses in
the blood, these tests cannot detect free, infectious viruses at all; they can
only detect proteins that are believed, in some cases wrongly, to be unique to
HIV. The tests can detect genetic sequences that are from viruses, or theorized
to be so, but not viruses themselves.

There isn't enough of a health detachment
among the public, the media, and the HIV theory with all its implications, to
make room for a rational debate on this issue. When AIDS was taken on by the
media and by AIDS organizations, it was endowed instantaneously with a set of
political, social, and moral implications, and an extraordinary righteousness
set in, a fervor so sure of itself that it refused to tolerate any questions.
Upon examination, some of the terms of
"AIDS-speak" appear to deliberately obscure the facts. Calling HIV
"the AIDS virus" implies, for example, that there is no doubt that HIV
causes AIDS. "The AIDS epidemic" implies that AIDS is spreading at an
uncontrollable rate, though not all agree: The number of new AIDS cases grows
slowly each year, a fact not widely trumpeted by the media or any of the
country's 16,000 AIDS organizations.
Would it be overly cynical to propose that
we have on our hands an industry that is devoted not so much to the fulfilment
of its goal - which would lead to its dissolution - as to its own
self-perpetuation?
Concerns
about selective reporting of clinical trials by drug companies has become highly
pronounced according to the International Committee of medical Journal Editors (ICMJE)
Despite
more than $100 billion spent on AIDS by US taxpayers alone, scientists have not
been able to ascertain how HIV causes the AIDS syndrome. Predictions about the
course of the epidemic have also proved inaccurate.
To
escape embarrassment over their failed predictions, AIDS experts have argued
that anti-viral drug treatments are responsible for the decline in AIDS. This is
hard to reconcile with the fact that the decline started well before the more
recent drug treatments were introduced; or with the unsatisfactory record of
these treatments.

President Thabo Mbeki has been drawn into a

has been cited in support of a R1 million damages claim a widow is bringing
against Glaxo Wellcome SA, the South African subsidiary of GlaxoSmithKline, the
British drugs giant.

impartiality of the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) in licensing anti-HIV
drugs.

Another result is the inevitable
deterioration of public health. According to the Food and Drug Administration
(FDA) 1.5 million Americans were hospitalised in 1978 as a consequence of taking
drugs and some 30 per cent of all hospitalised people are further damaged by
their treatments. Every year, an estimated 140,000 Americans are killed because
of drug taking and one in seven

risks of corporate money corrupting peer review. Some drug companies ensure that
only favourable results of their drug trials are published. They also suppress

UK statistics have confounded medical
experts by confirming that since 1982 only 33% of HIV positives have developed
AIDS and only 25% have died. This will shock and delight people living
with HIV who were presented with opinions since the start of the AIDS epidemic
claiming that there would be 100% fatality within a short period of diagnosis
who can now claim it's 'all lies, damned lies and statistics'

intervention by a doctor, even a throwaway comment or a test "just to be

accuracy of HIV tests, an Oklahoma man has won a $1.4 million settlement nine
years after a health clinic mistakenly told him he was infected with the virus
that causes AIDS.
Two prominent gay publications are
buckling under pressure from Abbott to refuse to run, or significantly alter, a
parody advertisement created by AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) that spoofs the
drug giant's media spin on their unprecedented price hike on Norvir.
A new study of the
advertising material and marketing brochures sent out by drug companies to GPs
in Germany has shown that about 94% of the information in them has no basis in
scientific evidence.
The Independent Television Commission (ITC)
in Britain has been responding to numerous complaints about highly visual
advertisements aired on Channels 3 and 4 for pharmaceutical multinational
Glaxo-Wellcome, which seek to persuade viewers the company is the market-leader
in HIV/AIDS research.
Information concerning the deficiencies in
US health care have been accumulating: 12 000 deaths a year from unnecessary
surgery;; 7000
deaths a year from medication errors in hospital; 20 000 deaths a year from
other hospital errors; 80 000 deaths from nonsocomial hospital infections; 106
000 deaths from adverse effects of medication

Conflicts of interest have corrupted the
soul of the American university, the ethics of medicine, the integrity of the
scientific record, and the safety of patients who serve as human subjects in
pre- and post-marketing clinical trials. Conflicts of interest in clinical
trials result in deadly medicine. Adverse drug reactions in FDA-approved drugs
are the leading cause of death in the United States.

Once,
after giving my hope speech during a public forum organized by the Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC), I was angrily pulled aside by the head of staff.
He begged me to stop saying that AIDS wasn't 100% fatal. His reasons were:

The viral load theory has created a new
worry to produce unbearable stress in the lives of desperate people. It is now
said that a person has only one shot at the new "anti-viral" drugs,
chiefly the protease inhibitors. If you don't take them at exactly the right
time, in exactly the right combinations or amounts, or if you foolishly take
only one drug at a time, or lower your dose because the current dose is making
you sick, your virus will become resistant and the drugs will never work on you
again. And you can't just quit the drugs either, for the same reason, even if
they are making you deathly ill.
Once a wary watchdog, the U.S. Food and
Drug Administration set out to become a 'partner' of the pharmaceutical
industry. Today, the American public has more remedies, but some are proving
lethal.
Many
people support cancer charities because they truly want to help find a cure for
cancer and alleviate the suffering of so many people. However, what are these
charities really doing with all of this money?

The most insidious characteristic of any
righteous new movement is that it maintains its power by employing the twin
tactics of terror and guilt. Terror of the "great threat" must first
be instilled, upheld by the societal guilt that comes with questioning the
validity of the threat. To question the validity of the threat -- in this case
to discuss actual AIDS figures rather than hysterical projections -- becomes
equated with badness, wrongness, grave irresponsibility, moral collapse -- and
in this case, with homophobia, racism, right-wing fanaticism, and ultimately,
that catch-all phrase: murder.
The so-called AIDS dissidents have been
accused in this manner for years, and it is this magnetic field of political
correctness and reflexive morality surrounding AIDS that has kept the real
science from being conducted, the real articles from being written, the real
questions from being asked. Ten years and $22 billion have been wasted.
Countless thousands have been poisoned, to varying degrees, by AZT, ddI, ddC and
other toxic and ineffective AIDS medications. Countless millions worldwide have
been terrorised by this vague, ever-expanding, multi-dimensional death sentence
called HIV, and those who have tested positive have had to struggle against a
merciless tide of cultural messages telling them they're going to die.
Widespread misuse of anti-HIV drugs has led
to drug resistance in at
least half the population under treatment for the disease in the United
States, scientists are reporting today.
Prompted by complaints from San Francisco,
the Food and Drug Administration ordered drug makers yesterday to tone down their
upbeat ads for AIDS medications, calling them 'misleading.'
Amidst the billion dollar competition to
create the newest blockbuster drug, there's one thing worth more than all the
ads money can buy; a single positive mention in a respected medical journal.

we've been murdered by incompetence. Despite the expenditure of billions of
dollars on federal AIDS research, we have little of value to show for it.

A Visiting Japanese scientist working at
the national Cancer Institute has admitted that he rigged part of a vaccine
research project and fabricated data, his co authors say, in a printed retraction
of a report on the project.
The new drugs can be enormously difficult
to take, logistically, even for those who can tolerate them (and afford them).
There is an almost Orwellian term for this problem - "patient
compliance," meaning How can we get these people to do what we need them
to? Patients take handfuls of pills that can make them feel awful day and night,
rearrange their lives so their stomachs are empty or full when it's time to take
this or that drug. Quality of life? The adverse effects of the drugs are so
voluminous it's almost absurd: kidney stones, vomiting, seizures, neuropathy,
gastrointestinal disorders, excessive bleeding in haemophiliacs. There are more
than 100 side effects listed.
The
mainstream media has singularly failed to recognise and expose as false what may
prove to be the greatest medical blunder, not only of the 20th century but also
perhaps of all time.
Think about how many times you've heard an
evening news anchor spit out some variation on the phrase, 'According to
experts...' It's such a common device that most of us hardly hear it anymore.
Ask yourself how many times has that news
reader revealed who those experts are, where they get their funding and what
constitutes their political agenda...
What happened at Chhochi is a classic
example of how the HIV hysteria can get out of hand and destroy not only
individual lives but also whole communities. From being a
local social improvement group formed in the pre-AIDS era, JACK has now evolved
into a national protest organisation, solely committed to counteracting the HIV theory in Indiaand abroad
I have attended, as a reporter, eight
International AIDS Conferences -- in Washington, D.C., Montreal, San Francisco,
Stockholm, Florence, Berlin, Vancouver, and this year, Geneva. They are
uniformly awful, a total waste of a journalist's time. Mostly I go just to
fortify my belief that AIDS -- the entire industry and social machinery of it --
is at its root a totalitarian system. By that, I mean that there is a central
ideology that seeks to enforce its domination by methodically obstructing any
ideas that run counter to it. This is no place for journalists.
''Media'' -- to the extent that they are
present, are only there for decorative purposes. If any rogue journalist
actually asks a question -- a real question -- he or she is met with a sea of
frowning faces and hisses.
Every doctor knows that a gagging patient
is a sick patient. But apparently the American medical Association believes
gagging medical research is just dandy when it serves the AMA agenda at the
expense of public health.
Physicians' prescribing perks do change
based on gifts such as meals, conferences and other perks received from drug
companies, according to a recently published survey in the Journal of the
American Medical Association.
Attempts to influence the judgment of
doctors by commercial interests serving the medical industrial complex are
nothing if not thorough. Unfortunately, they seem to work.
I realize that to the average American,
when I say ''AIDS'' you think of perhaps Liz Taylor or Elton John and red
ribbons and marches and quilts and candles and all kinds of benevolence. All of
that stuff is probably well intentioned enough. But the real force driving the
AIDS super-structure, what pulses just beneath the patina of do-goodism -- is an
industry of awesome, relentless, amoral power -- the pharmaceutical industry
These ''International AIDS Conferences''
are really just microcosms of the AIDS industry itself. They are funded by,
driven by, and controlled by the pharmaceutical industry.At
every conference, the leading pharmaceutical giants take up an entire
stadium-sized floor with their structures -- mini-villages that they build,
complete with huge video screens, towering pillars, interactive displays and all
kinds of goodies, including CDs, videos, carry bags, condoms, ice cream,
chocolates and whatever else they can imagine will lure conference delegates
into their booths.
Most of the doctors present are there
courtesy of the pharmaceutical industry, and in addition to their travel
expenses and per diems, they are invited to a constant series of lavish lunches
and dinners. Many of the doctors who write for medical journals about the
effects of these AIDS drugs are paid consultants to the drug companies. It is,
in short, a festival of sophisticated whoredom.
When Professor Martin Cormican, a
bacteriologist at University College Hospital, Ireland wrote to Bayer in
November last year asking for a supply of pure ciprofloxacin and related
products for his research into antibiotic resistance, he was asked to sign a
document stating that; ' We declare that we will inform Bayer AG of our test
results and will not publish or commercialise them without written permission of
Bayer AG.'
Protease combos were billed as a miracle.
While the meds saved many lives, most HIVpositives
could have been spared side effects, premature resistance and lost options - if
only one mistake hadn't been made

As a scientist who has studied AIDS for 16 years, I have determined that AIDS
has little to do with science and is not even primarily a medical issue. AIDS is
a sociological phenomenon held together by fear, creating a kind of medical
McCarthyism that has transgressed and collapsed all the rules of science, and
has imposed a brew of belief and pseudoscience on a vulnerable public.
Sophie
Brassard fought the system and lost. She fought doctors and social workers face
to face and in the courts. Finally, she fled her native Canada and lived as a
fugitive in a foreign country. At the age of 40 she succumbed physically and
mentally. We may never know if she died of AIDS or of a broken spirit.
Fifty percent of Africans have no sewage systems. Their drinking water mixes
with animal and human waste. They have constant TB and malaria infections, the
symptoms of which are diarrhoea and weight loss, the very same criteria UNAIDS
and the World Health Organization use to diagnose AIDS in Africa. These people
need clean drinking water and treated mosquito nets, not condoms and lectures
and deadly pharmaceuticals forced on pregnant mothers.
There
is not much that radicals and multinational companies agree on, but the
desperate need for drugs for those suffering from AIDS is an exception.
Left-wing radicals may argue that drugs should be made available without cost to
victims, or that patents should be waived to allow production by generic
manufacturers, but by and large they strongly support the drugs into bodies philosophy.
I
often wonder what would happen if all federal money for AIDS education,
research, treatment, and so forth was suddenly dropped to zero. It's my
belief that AIDS would go away. In other words, the AIDS diseases that we see
today would be reassigned to their former categories; pneumocystis carinii
pneumonia, Kaposi's sarcoma, and the other 25 or so different diseases, now
including cervical dysplasia and so forth. AIDS has been a disease of
definition. If we said that it didn't exist and didn't pay for it with taxpayers money, it would disappear into the background'

euphoria that followed, a batch of new drugs flooded the market. Four years
later, those drugs are wreaking unimaginable horror on the patients who dared to
hope. What went wrong?
A
person can react positive even though he or she is not infected with HIV. The
tests are interpreted differently in different countries, which means that a
person who is positive in Africa or Thailand can be negative when tested in
Australia. There is no justification for the fact that most people have not been
informed about the serious inaccuracy of the tests. The error has catastrophic

growing number of researchers question the "official"
inflated numbers of AIDS prevalence in African countries such as Botswana, South
Africa and Lesotho.
AIDS
is a "bio-psycho-social disorder. A psychologically contagious, being
spread through mass-hypnosis rather than microbes. The AIDS
establishment through ignorant doctors, counselors and journalists has
programmed thousands to die a premature death via its disinformation and
propaganda.
These
people need to be deprogrammed if they are to recover...
To
what extent are we as individuals allowed our freedoms of thought and choice in
our own affairs when labelled with a medical diagnosis?
This
is particularly acute when "HIV-diagnosed women try to exercise any form
of protection for themselves and for their children that might challenge the
orthodoxy
Valuable
resources are being diverted to the HIV/AIDS craze when I think it is obvious
that we get back to basics and solve the REAL problems chronic nutrient
deficiencies. Then we'll worry about troublesome retroviruses that kill less
than 1% of well fed populations.
The
pharmaceutical industry operates in a way that puts profits before public health
and the regulatory authorities, which are meant to ensure the safety of drugs
and protect the public collude with the industry.
South African doctors blasted a
supermarket franchise for hawking HIVtest kits, saying self-testing
without counselling would be disastrous and lead to possible misuse by
employers, insurers and even state officials.
"Tests indicate you may have a
chance of being infected. There is a probability that, if infected, you will
become ill within the next 10 years and a possibility that you never will. If
you take the drugs, there is a significant risk of great decline in your quality
